OTLEY’S Chamber Choir, The Chippendale Singers, will be celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday in style with a concert entitled ‘Gloria’ at St Mary’s Church, Burley-in-Wharfedale on Saturday, May 7 with the proceeds being donated to the Yorkshire Cancer Centre at St James’s Hospital, Leeds
Under the baton of its musical director, Alex Woodrow, who is also Director of Music at Bradford Cathedral, the choir will perform, amongst other works, a Medley from Les Miserables by Schonberg, four part songs with words by Mary E. Coleridge and music by C.V. Stanford, Zadok the Priest by Handel and the Vivaldi Gloria.
The choir will be accompanied by Richard Wilson who is the organist and choirmaster at St Chad’s Church in Leeds
The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets, which will include refreshments, cost £10 with 16 year olds and under going in free when accompanied by an adult.
