CHORISTERS braved the bitter cold to sing seasonal songs at Ilkley’s annual carol service.

Pupils from Moorfield School for Girls, Ashlands Primary School and Ghyll Royd School joined together to perform at the bandstand, accompanied by young musicians.

The traditional service was organised by Ilkley Parish Council and Churches Together, and guests included the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Coun Peter Hill. The afternoon was rounded off with mince pies and mulled wine, provided by the parish council.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the bandstand which was conceived as a millennium project by the two Rotary Clubs of Ilkley and was completed in 2001.
