BEN Rhydding scored in just 47 seconds to take the lead in this tough and often frenzied North Men's Hockey League Premier Division battle.
Callum Franks showed sharp thinking in popping the ball to Will Musgrave who delivered a creative goal to give his side a convincing start.
However, just five minutes later, Alderley replied with a good-quality drag flick at a corner.
The game raged on with neither side gaining any traction as they went into the half-time break.
Rhydding changed their shape in the second half to try to get numbers into attack and this backfired as Alderley scored two goals on the break to take a 3-1 lead.
The game became ugly in its last throes and Rhydding lost their discipline. Both teams were down to nine men at various points but it was Alderley that dug deep and found connections to score two late goals to give Rhydding a sound beating.
