Six former champions will head the 198-strong entry for Richmond Motor Club’s demanding Scott Trial on Saturday.

Twelve-times world trials champion, Dougie Lampkin, Wayne Braybrook, Phillip Alderson, Michael Phillipson, Cookridge’s James Dabill and the 2011 winner Jonathan Richardson will be tackling the Feldom Moor course.

The event involves almost 80 miles of moorland, tracks, hills and dales and will be ridden against the elements. Penalties are awarded for time taken over and above the fastest finisher.

In 1996 Graham Jarvis stopped the clocks in a mind boggling 5hrs 56mins 40 secs – the longest time since records were kept.

Thirty eight riders will be newcomers, including Chloe Richardson, sister of Jonathan.

Twenty nine contenders will be under the age of 21 and there will be four female contyestants.

World and national stars Emma Bristow and Katy Sunterand Robyn Alderson - whose father Phillip won the trial on four occasions - will be putting their skills to the test.

One competitor who is expected to attract massive attention is Tyco Suzuki Superbike team rider Josh Brookes.

He was in action at Brands Hatch last weekend and will find a totally different type of riding required on Saturday.

The organisers have produced an 80-page programme, priced £4, which lists every competitor and all their details.

The first rider starts at 9am.

Ilkley decorator Graham Tales won the clubman category of the national Lakes Two-Day Trial at Broughton in Furness on Sunday. He finished ahead of Bury rider Shaun Isherwood and New Mills contender Mark Reynolds.

Melmerby motor engineer Stuart Blythe was placed eighth ahead of the younger of the Tales family, Andrew.

Alexz Wigg stormed the hard course losing a single mark on Sunday to win ahead of Scarborough’s Michael Brown and Sam Haslam.

Yeadon-Guiseley Motor Club staged their Dave Curry Trophy Trial in sunny weather in Nidderdale on Sunday.

Sixty seven competitors rode a four-lap ten-section course prepared by Danny Cockshott. Huddersfield Falcon member Andy Jackson set the standard in the novice class winning by just one penalty over Harrogate’s Robert Hardisty and Pudsey’s Howard Gulley.

Keighley youngster Jacob Snowden headed the small wheels class from Silsden's Gabby Whitham.
