Ilkley swimming starlet Siân Morgan will be hoping to make a splash in the new Olympic pool next month.
The 17-year-old Welsh inter- national has qualified to compete in three events at the Olympic Trials which will be the first competition held in the Olympic Park Aquatics Centre at Stratford.
Siân had already achieved the qualifying times in the 200m and 400m freestyle while in Portugal last August, before producing another impressive performance last Saturday.
Siân knocked four and a half seconds off her personal best time in the400m individual medley to achieve a third Olympic Trial qualifying time. The fine performance came while she was representing her club City of Bradford Swimming Club at the North of England Swimming Champ- ionships in Sheffield.
Siân had spent the week leading up to the eventd oing A level examinations at Bradford Grammar School.
In 2010 Siân swam in the Commonwealth Games for Wales.
She said:, “I am just so pleased to have qualified for the trials and to have the opportunity to swim at the top level.”
