lkley coach Rhys Morgan is set to have to make more changes to his back division for Saturday’s home clash with Yorkshire Division One leaders Driffield.

Injuries and unavailabilities mean that he will have to make tough choices and he admits he would prefer to be able to field some settled combinations.

This week he is without stand off Phil Howell who is at a wedding, while injury means that Mark Kirkby is ruled out.

On the plus side, Tom Bills is fit to return at stand off and Morgan hopes to have both student Jack Revell and the experienced Alastair Monks available for selection in the centres.

“The changes are not helping us to find continuity,” said Morgan, “But it is up to the players coming in to stake their claims.

“Howell did it in the last home game against Pocklington and that is the response I want to see from my players.”

Ilkley have been joined this week by two new Australian recruits, centre Morgan Collins and hooker Isaac Scholes who are both from Muswellbrook Heelers, New South Wales.

Collins’s dad, Rod, played for Ilkley in the 1980s and both the new boys, who only arrived on Tuesday, are expected to have a run out with one of the club’s lower sides this week.

Both trained just hours after arriving and will add depth to the Dalesmen’s squad.
