ILKLEY Lawn Tennis and Squash Club has recently introduced a brand new Padel court as their latest addition to the club.

The club will be hosting an official launch, open days and coaching sessions in the coming weeks and they welcome anyone to come down to take part and find out more about this new venture.

Commenting on their new venture, Ilkley Lawn Tennis and Squash Club, said: “ With an increasing number of Padel courts popping up across the country, we're seeing more and more people picking up a racket.

“Endorsed by Sir Andy Murray as an accessible sport for all, we are confident that the fun and sociable elements of the game will bring a new level of inclusivity to the club.

“As an exciting and dynamic sport, it’s a great opportunity for anyone to get involved regardless of any previous experience in a racket sport. As one of few Padel courts in the Wharfe Valley, this is a highly anticipated addition to Ilkley Lawn Tennis and Squash Club. Standing alongside international standard tennis courts, squash courts and fully equipped gym, the new Padel court is set to diversify sport at the club even further.

“Whilst still wanting to reflect the values and history of the club established in 1880, the opportunities to grow and evolve for future generations must be grasped in order for the club to survive. Padel is just the first step in this development. After proving hugely successful at clubs across the country, the hope is it will help the club continue to flourish in the coming years.”

Details of the new venture will be posted on the club’s website and social media pages in the not-too-distant future.
