GUISELEY will be delighted that Jameel Ible has turned into a goalscoring machine.
He netted his third goal in four games last night at Matlock Town, a victory that leaves the Lions just three points off the play-off places in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.
He headed them in front after only three minutes, with the Lions retaining the edge in the opening half-hour.
Matlock, another side chasing the play-offs, came close to equalising just before the break, but blazed a volley over the bar.
After the interval, Lewis Whitham's low free-kick on 68 minutes almost found Callum Chippendale, but instead was nearly turned into the Matlock net by one of their own players.
The visitors had a great chance to level in the closing stages, but a ball flashed in across the face of goal did not have any takers in the middle, and Guiseley escaped with a hard-fought three points.
The Lions face another away trip this Saturday, as they head to high-flying Warrington Town.
