NEW ROVER produced one of the shocks in the Aire-Wharfe League claiming a three-wicket win at leaders Otley.

Jonathan Postle (4-44) and Aqsad Ali (3-36) kept the runs down as Otley were bowled out for just 129, a total the visitors passed in the 33rd over thanks to Fahid Rehman (48).

That opened the door for Rawdon to close the gap to ten points after they chased down Burley-in-Wharfedale’s 208 at Larkfield Road.

Reigning champions Saltaire made it eight wins in a row after being sent in by North Leeds, with middle-order Jibrael Malik (92 no) and Muhammad Khurshid (50) starring in their 215-8.

Despite opener Yash Pednekar making 79, spin twins Mussawar Shah (4-60) and Mutashan Ali Shah (3-69) won through with the ball, North Leeds managing 202 in reply.

Things still remain tight in the battle to avoid relegation, with Bilton and Ilkley tied on 146 points after claiming wins against Horsforth Hall Park and Collingham & Linton.

Tom Watson (58) and Jacob Phillips (44) both made notable contributions for the visitors before Bilton’s Russell Robshaw restricted them to 180, a total that his side reached with just four balls remaining.

Toby Jacklin (5-67) also recorded five wickets for Collingham & Linton against Ilkley, Robbie Murray (53), and Andrew Rhodes (35) putting on 70 for the fifth wicket as the visitors managed a competitive 211.

Rhodes (4-15) then cleaned up with the ball as the hosts were bowled out for a disappointing 113 in reply.

Beckwithshaw were also victorious at home to Addingham, with captain Ben Holderness (44) the best of the batters in their 159.

Joe Holderness (4-33) then proved effective after tea as the visitors could only manage 135.
