GUISELEY AFC have today released their retained list for a season in the Pitching In Northern Premier League, from which they hope to make a swift return to National League North.

Players who were under contract for the 2022/23 season and who have been retained are experienced midfielder John Johnston, who joined the club late last season, and young Academy graduate striker Adam Haw.

An option to retain young midfielder Lewis Hey, who has progressed through the club's Academy, has been activated.

Players offered terms of re-engagement are George Cantrill, who won a number of the club's awards last season; Regan Hutchinson, Andrew Hollins and Oliver Brown.

Players invited to pre-season training are Hagie Damba, Ellis Farrar, Oliver Reape, Jakub Hebda and Harrison Leigh, who have all come up through the club's Academy. Midfielders Ethan Cartwright and Andy Kellett, who both played in the first team last season, have also been invited to pre-season training.

In addition striker Bailey Thompson has been invited to continue his rehabilitation from knee surgery with the club.

The new management team of Danny Ellis and Danny Forrest have already signed a number of new players including goalkeeper Kyle Trennery, left-back George Smith and striker Jake Cassidy from Darlington, right-back Jameel Ible from Whitby Town and centre-back/midfielder Spencer Harris from Liversedge. Danny Ellis, who played at centre-back for Darlington last season, will continue to register as a player.

The signings of two other players are being processed and will be announced shortly.

Players released or who have signed elsewhere are Prince Ekpolo (AFC Telford United), Dom Tear (Scarborough Athletic), Jamie Spencer (Bradford PA), Lebrun Mbeka (Boston United), Kaine Felix (Peterborough Sports), Hamza Bencherif (Worksop Town), Shaun Tuton, Josh Stones, Declan Lambton, Chuk Molokwu and Oli Metcalfe.

Loan players who have returned to their parent clubs are Owen Mason Scott Moloney, Thierry Latty-Fairweather, Scott McLean and James Gale

In other news, Guiseley have confirmed another pre-season friendly as Barnsley FC X1 side will visit Nethermoor on Tuesday 12 July in a 7:30pm kick-off.
