GARY DOUGLAS, Chairman of Guiseley, delivered an end of season update via the club's website on Monday evening after the first team were relegated from the Vanarama National League system at the weekend.

A 2-1 defeat at Alfreton Town saw Guiseley’s twelve year tenure in the National League come to an end, and it allowed Douglas to reflect on what has been a fairly frustrating campaign.

Speaking to the club's media team, the Chairman said: "I would like to thank you all for your amazing support of the club over the last season, the number of you in attendance at Alfreton was fantastic and we are sorry that we couldn’t quite get over the line.

"The way you have continued to back us in the numbers you have despite the results has been nothing short of phenomenal.

We are finalising plans in terms of a management team for next season, alongside season tickets, and information on both of these should be forthcoming in the next few days. We are also hard at work securing pre-season friendlies, again these will be revealed as and when these are agreed and in line with our oppositions wishes.

"Next season will see us renew several old rivalries and I am hopeful we will find ourselves competing in the top half of the table rather than a scrap against relegation again.

"Finally, I recognise there have been comments suggesting we as a club could do more to communicate with our fan base. Could I kindly ask that any suggestions to improve this are sent to James Pickles on : james.pickles@guiseleyafc.co.uk and we will look to work on this together. It is imperative we stick together as a club and as a fan base as we look to push forward next season."
