YOUNG Ilkley Town defender Matt Swift has been awarded with the Non-League Yorkshire’s January player of the month vote.
Swift was in superb form during January, helping Ilkley string a run of important victories together.
He finished just ahead of second-placed Garforth Town forward Charlie Marshall.
New Yorkshire Amateur goalkeeper Max Culverwell who saved penalties, was third.
Highly-rated starlet Lewis Whitham was fourth.
Over 800 votes were cast for the award. Swift will be hoping to continue to his fine run of form into the forthcoming fixtures, with Ilkley looking to avoid the drop.
