BURY made it 28 games unbeaten after seeing off Ilkley Town 2-1 at home on Tuesday evening.

Coming up against the league leaders in Bury, it was always going to be a tough task for Town but they once again proved their credentials and fought right until the end, halving the two goal deficit with ten minutes to go.

It was a lively start from Bury which saw them create a flurry of chances, and they were rewarded for their efforts on minute eight.

Harry Brazel continued his fine vain of form after being teed up by Abs Obasoto . The latter left his man in the dust, before picking out a pass for Brazel to coolly slot home.

The goal seemed to ignite Ilkley as they grew into the game and saw a powerful header saved by Atkinson.

Despite growing into the game, they were put back down by an injury. Hudson had to be subbed off just 20 minutes into the game for Scott. Bury went in at half-time 1-0 up.

It only took Bury ten minutes to score after the restart. It was once again Obasoto who skipped past his man and this time was able to pick out Gilboy who slotted it past the flailing keeper.

Ilkley got what they deserved when they scored to make it 2-1 with just ten minutes to go, but they couldn't find the leveller.

Next for Ilkley is a crucial home fixture with Campion this Saturday (3:00 PM).
