Saltaire extended their lead at the top of the Division 1 table to 17 points with a five-wicket win at Addingham on Saturday.

Richard Atkins (57) and captain Ted Haggas (55) led the charge as the hosts posted 205-6 from 40 overs before the rain began to fall, with Zahir Abbas the best of the bowlers with 3-56.

After a lengthy delay, the league leaders were set a revised total of 177 from 35 overs, with Jibrael Malik (102no) continuing his prolific season to help them recover from 6-3 to reach their target with an over to spare.

Collingham & Linton also benefitted in the only other match to finish, moving up to sixth after comfortably beating North Leeds at home by six wickets.

Farhan Khan (38) top-scored for the visitors, who posted 151-7 from their 43 overs, with David Syers impressing by taking 4-33.

Tasked with reaching 115 from 28 overs, the hosts raced to their target, with wicketkeeper-batsman Daniel Kilby (50) and Ed Hayhurst (44) adding the runs.

Rawdon looked well on their way to posting a big total at Beckwithshaw, picking up six points before rain stopped play.

Gareth Clough scored 7x4 and 4x6 on his way to a fantastic 72 not out, with opener Ben Morley adding 55 as the visitors finished on 194-5 from 41 overs.

Elsewhere in Division 1, Burley-in-Wharfedale reached 58-5 and Horsforth 45-1 at home to Olicanian and Ilkley respectively, before the downpours hit.

Division 2 leaders New Rover were favourites for the win at Bardsey after a fantastic bowling display from Will Pearson (4-36) restricted the hosts to 80 all out.

Pool were in control at home to Steeton, with Will Pallister (46no) and Krutik Patel (48) showing why they lead the league’s batting table.

Horsforth and Tong Park also made strong starts away at Colton Institute and Kirkstall, both scoring over 120 with just two wickets lost.

However, Guiseley were perhaps thankful that their match against local rivals Green Lane was postponed, with Neil Britton and Azhar Mehmood taking two wickets apiece to leave the hosts struggling at 20-4 after 17 overs.

In Division 3, Harden strengthened their position at the top of the table, picking up six points away at Old Leodiensians thanks to a fantastic 5-44 from Chris Spivey.

A 72-run partnership between David Hedges (27) and Luke Facey (38) saw second-placed Skipton to 97-2 at Leeds Modernians, with rivals Thackley joining them on 62 points after Jack Allport’s 3-34 helped them claim five points against Rawdon.

Elsewhere, North Leeds II moved from the foot of the table, with Tom Alldred’s impressive 4-15 seeing them claim six points against St Chads, with Bolton Villas and Calverley earning three points apiece away at Tong Park and Alwoodley respectively.

On Sunday, Collingham & Linton progressed into the second round of the Waddilove Cup, easing to an eight-wicket win at St Chads II.

Dan Grabinar (54) scored nearly half of the hosts’ runs as they finished on 119 all out, with Kilby again in fine form for the visitors, scoring 72 not out from just 45 deliveries as his side cruised to their target in just 15.3 overs.
