Guiseley are delighted to announce Kaine Felix has signed a new contract with the club for the 2021/22 campaign, it will be the fourth successive season the forward will play for The Lions.

As he approaches his 26th birthday at the end of the month Guiseley striker Kaine Felix is very happy to have signed a new contract and he welcomed the opportunity saying:”I cannot think of a better club or better management team to spend the years at the peak of my career with. Russ, Marcus and Paul are amazing and I love working with them.”

The Peterborough-based former York City player was keen to stress how big a part the quality of the management played in his decision to sign for a fourth season at Nethermoor writes Rachel O’Connor.

The management team changed Felix’s position from winger to striker two seasons ago and it has proved a shrewd move with Felix among the goals with his pace and tireless work rate up front setting the tone for the team.

He has proved to be a thorn in the side of many a defender and he looks forward to adding to his reputation in the coming season after the last two seasons were frustratingly curtailed due to Covid-19.

Felix said:”I personally did not think last season should have started at all. It became farcical and felt unsafe at times. It was strange with only five players at a time changing, no mixing with the volunteer staff who mean so much to the club and there was no normality. The world is not right at the moment. You are always on edge and the game cannot be played the way it is meant to be played.

“I really hope that when we return to playing the fans will be allowed back in. The fans are a massive part of football. They give you that extra five per cent when you need it most, especially when you are tired. They give you more motivation.”
