BRADFORD sports clubs will be rejoicing as sport is allowed to return.
Outdoor sports facilities, such as football pitches, tennis and basketball courts, golf courses and open-air swimming pools, will be allowed to reopen from 29th March.
It arrives as part of the next stage of the Government’s roadmap out of national lockdown as outdoor sports facilities can open, and organised outdoor football can take place once more.
As well as sports facilities reopening, the ‘stay at home’ rule will also end on Monday March 29, but many restrictions will remain in place.
As organised sport can resume, all participants may travel to games but should avoid travel at the busiest times and routes, as well as minimising any unnecessary journeys where possible.
In line with sporting facilities reopening, it will be a huge relief for many of Bradford’s sporting organisations with facilities dormant throughout lockdown.
Other than people returning to the golf course and tennis courts today, one of the first bits of allowed action will see Silsden's U23s travel to Ilkley's U23s for a West Riding County Development Senior Cup tie.
The Yorkshire Amateur League is set to resume this weekend too, involving teams like Toller, Athletico and Route One Rovers.
