THOUGHTS now turn to tonight and tomorrow's FA Cup clashes for many of our Bradford District clubs, but there was a full programme of friendlies over the weekend.

The big clash on Saturday saw Thackley welcome Guiseley to Dennyfield, with the visitors finally getting to play their first game of pre-season.

But they shook off any rust to beat Pat McGuire's Northern Counties East League side 1-0, capping off a dominant display with a 70th minute winner from one of their trialists.

He fired home from the edge of the area after some great build up play.

Liversedge look in excellent shape going into the new NCEL campaign, retaining most of last season's star men as well as making some eye-catching summer signings.

And it was one of those, former Altrincham centre half John Cyrus, who made his mark in Saturday's home friendly with Tadcaster Albion, netting twice early in the second half to put his side 2-0 up.

Lethal striker Oliver Fearon completed the scoring, making it 3-0 in the 89th minute.

Campion had an even more convincing win, as they thumped visitors Middleton 6-1.

A Myles Foley goal looked to have secured Silsden a 1-1 draw at home to Padiham, but the Cobbydalers were floored by Jack Egan's 89th minute winner.

Steeton battled hard at Summerhill Lane against Avro and were rewarded with a 0-0 draw, while Barnoldswick Town won 2-1 at Bacup Borough.

Brighouse Town were in action on Friday night, and they won 2-0 at Penistone Church, courtesy of second half goals from Joe Jagger and Jack Boyle.

Most of the clubs above are in FA Cup action over the next couple of days. Silsden visit Eccleshill United tonight, while another Bradford District derby sees Campion welcome Albion Sports to Scotchman Road tomorrow.

Thackley travel to Runcorn Town tonight for their extra preliminary round clash. It will be a tough ask for the Dennyboys, as Runcorn have former Bayern Munich striker Dale Jennings in their squad.

Liversedge are also away this evening, at Irlam, who they beat in pre-season a few weeks ago.

Finally Barnoldswick are away at AFC Darwen tonight.

All of the extra preliminary round games this week will go straight to penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes. There will be no extra-time or replays.
