A GUISELEY teenager won three medals, including a gold, in the City of Liverpool Spring Meet.

Fifteen-year old Rebecca Dunn was a part of a small team of City of Bradford Swimming Club's members who made the journey over the Pennines on March 14 and 15 and were rewarded with a host of medals and personal best times.

Dunn struck gold in the 200 breaststroke, silver in the 100m event, bronze in the 50m event and fifth in the 200m individual medley at the Liverpool Aquatics Centre.

Swimming in the 10/11 age group, Evie Hobson was in fine form, earning three golds, a silver and one final placing.

She won gold in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke and silver in the 50m butterfly and 100m backstroke. Her other final placing was in the 100m freestyle where she finished in sixth place.

Next in line was 13-year-old Keira Hinchclife with gold in the 1500m freestyle, silver in the 400m event and bronze medals in the 200m freestyle and100m backstroke. She then went on to take a fourth place finish in the 100m freestyle.

Sisters Sophia and Evelyn Gledhill both claimed silver in the 100m butterfly and 50m backstroke respectively and Sophia rounded off a successful weekend with a final placing in the 50m butterfly and 200m individual medley.

Laura Temple, swimming in the 10/11 years age group, finished in third place in the 100m backstroke and also claimed three other final placings.

Other finalists were Ciara O’Carroll and Sam Akers (2).

All swimmers train on the Bradford Aquatics Competition programme under the guidance of coaches Andy Pearce and Sarah Fisher.
