A BRAWL erupted between Pool and Horsforth St Margaret's in a West Riding County FA Challenge Cup tie at Pool on Saturday.
There is no denying that there is a fierce rivalry between the teams involved in this local derby.
Pool led before the break and Horsforth equalised, but then the game boiled over with two Horsforth players sent off and they defended stubbornly with nine men.
The final whistle blew with decisions about who would take the penalties, but then a brawl erupted, which left the referee with little alternative other than to abandon the game with a report suitably forwarded to the FA.
l Horsforth St Margaret's B team also played in an entertaining game in the West Riding County FA Challenge Trophy.
The tense game at Beeston Juniors Old Boys was tied at 2-2 when both sides scored a goal in added time.
Unfortunately, the Horsforth side were knocked out when Beeston won 4-2 in the penalty shoot-out.
