POOL continued their good form with a convincing 4-0 victory at Hartshead.

They have been producing continually good performances, but lacking in front of goal, along with silly defensive mistakes.

Recent weeks have seen them tighten their defence, and find the finishing touch.

Harry Higgins, in particular, is in top form, adding another two goals to his tally in this match.

Josh Waite and Jamie Algar also got on the scoresheet for Pool.

Another clean sheet saw keeper Andy Doey share the match point with defensive giant, Harvey Atkinson.

Pool take a break from league football this Saturday as they travel to Horsforth St Margarets in the Wharfedale FA District Cup.

* Pool Reserves beat Wyke Wanderers Reserves 1-0, gaining back-to-back wins for the first time in a long time, and deservedly so.

They were on top for much of the match, but failed to take their early chances.

Wyke were often dangerous, and it took some stout defending from veterans Julian Horberry and Chris Jones, along with young and speedy Sam Parsons, coupled with a confident performance in goal from Will Pallister to keep them out.

Pool eventually gained their reward midway through the second half when Jordan Drake lobbed the Wyke keeper from wide on the right, the ball dropping just under the bar and into the net.
