A JACK Farrimond long distance strike put Pool in the third round of the County FA Challenge Cup after a 3-2 victory at Knaresborough on Saturday.
The away side raced into a two goal lead thanks to a brace from Harry Higgins on the rain soaked Manse Lane pitch.
Knaresborough responded with a couple of goals themselves before the break, despite Pool's Andy Doey in fine form between the sticks.
The half ended with Josh Waite and Higgins generating saves from Boro's keeper.
Pool's spell of dominance continued in the second period, thanks to a midfield duo of Harvey Atkinson and James Carroll creating dangerous chances.
Although, it was Farrimond's finish that will grab the headlines as his effort flew past the keeper to nestle inside the near post.
Pool now enter the third round and will be looking to put some sort of a cup run together.
Pool Reserves gained their first win of the season to lift them off the bottom of West Yorkshire Division Two table as they crushed Old Centralians 3-1, with goals coming from Ben Fawcett, Will Johnson and Aaron Macey.
