ILKLEY Cycling Club's youth section held two events this week to welcome the UCI Road Cycling World Championships to Yorkshire.

The first event was a “Pedal in Park” aimed at cyclocross and mountain biking.

Ilkley's Daniel Woody Hole, who races off road in the Enduro category for Hope Factory Racing, showed some the more accomplished youngsters how to do some advanced bike handling skills.

Harry Wood, from British Cycling, spent time showing the younger riders how to use their balance and weight on their bike to make it perform better when riding.

On Saturday, Ilkley Cycling Club joined with other Bradford Met clubs East Bradford and Bronte Tykes to hold a go-ride racing event in Cliffe Castle Park, Keighley, where 56 children from various clubs and those new to cycling competed in events that mimicked the world events.
