ALBION are still on the trail of a double swoop to kick-start their summer transfer business.

But The Argus understands they were last night still short of agreeing deals for top targets Leandro Trossard and Matt Clarke.

Trossard has emerged as a wanted man after stellar displays for Genk in the Belgian League.

Although an initial bid for the £18 million-rated man was reportedly knocked back, he remains of interest.

The Argus understands a report that Albion would land Clarke for a knockdown £3 million was wide of the mark with no deal yet agreed.

But he remains a player Albion would like to get on board.

Alexis Mac Allister’s much-anticipated loan move to Boca Juniors was close to being finalised last night.

Sources in Buenos Aires believe the season-long deal will go through but that Boca’s wish for an option to buy the player has held things up.

Mac Allister has revealed he chose Boca as they are the club he has followed since childhood.

But Albion will have made the final decision on where he spends next season.

Top Argentinian sides Independiente, San Lorenzo, Estudiantes and Racing all want Mac Allister to sign as his loan at Argentinos Juniors expires.

Albion’s young midfielder Tudor Baluta scored yesterday to help Romania beat Croatia 4-1 in the European Championships for under-21s in San Marino.

Baluta, who has remained on loan in his home country, intercepted a pass and finished neatly to crown his under-21s debut.
