A YOUNG tennis player from Addingham is having an excellent winter season.
In the last month, Thomas Horsley, a member of Ilkley Lawn Tennis and Squash Club and pupil at Ermysted’s Grammar School, has achieved a hat-trick of victories in the under-18s category in three regional tennis tournaments at Hull, Bolton and Sunderland .
With this success, Horsley, aged 15, was selected together with Euan Wilson-Baig of Huddersfield, Adam Hillerby of Leeds and Ryan Carrick of Harrogate to represent Yorkshire under-18s at the traditional 12 Counties Championship in Corby.
Yorkshire were victorious against Cambridgeshire and Leicestershire and a draw against Essex has helped them retain their place in the First Division .
