THE Airecentre Pacers sparkled in the snow and sun across a range of races over the weekend.

Andrew Smith set a new personal best at the Dewsbury 10k on Sunday in 34 minutes and 40 seconds and Chris Hill ran his fastest 10k race time since 2011 with 46 minutes and 18 seconds.

Andy Glenhill completed the Southport 'Mad Dog' 10k in a time of 53 minutes.

Carole Keithley completed the Kirkstall Calvery Clutter 17km trail run in 1 hour 54 minutes, with Rachael Smith and Ruth Murphy finishing together with a time of 1 hour 56 minutes.

A dozen Pacers took part in the 23-mile Rombalds Stride Winter Challenge.

The route takes in some of Yorkshire’s finest scenery, going up the Airedale Valley, over Rombalds Moor to Ilkley and across Otley Chevin and finishing in Guiseley.

The Pacers team all completed the 23 miles within the 10-hour time limit.

In sunny Spain, Margaret Britton completed the Torremolinos Half Marathon.

Torremolinos, just 10 miles East of Malaga, has long been a favourite for British holidaymakers.

Margaret said: "Although many people have been on holiday to Torremolinos, not many people know of its excellent half marathon in February each year.

"Some people have used it as a warm-up for the London marathon, but it is a great excuse for a fantastic weekend away."

And finally, the Sunday morning 'Plogging' continues. Plogging is the combination of running and picking up litter.

Organiser Richard Walker said: "In addition to the usual coffee cups, cans and cigarette boxes, the Pacers this week also found (and recycled) an eclectic mix of items including an old passport, shoes and a flamingo head."
