'IT is all to play for' is Ilkley head of rugby Rhys Morgan's assessment as his improving side look to charge up the North Premier table.

The Stacks Field side entertain fifth-placed Harrogate on Saturday following an impressive 36-18 win over rock-bottom Wilmslow last weekend.

Ilkley's second-successive victory, which included an impressive second-half display, has encouraged Morgan enough to predict further improvements from his side.

Ilkley are 10th in a clustered mid-table on 31 points, just seven behind Harrogate, as they look ahead to a tough-sounding home double header with sixth-placed Sandal following on December 15.

Ben Waddington, who can play at back or second row, is back in contention for the Harrogate clash.

Morgan said: "I'm pretty pleased with the squad I have at this moment in time. But the squad is paper thin.

"I can't wait for the Christmas break for time for the players to rest. I will be happy for them to have a break.

"We have two tough games coming up against Harrogate and Sandal.

"You've got to be pleased with the last five weeks we have had. I am really chuffed where we are.

"We had never been to Wilmslow before and there was a slope on the pitch, which changed our gameplan.

"It got to half-time and we were a point up. I told the players I wanted them to cut out their errors. We stuck to our plan and you could hear the boys speaking to one another.

"During the second-half against Wilmslow I could see the determination was there with the players. They were not prepared to lose. They were saying ' that's not going to happen today' It was just great. It was a good win, we took them six tries to two. We have go to be happy with that.

"It has been really important for us to win the last two games. It is all to play for, there are a few teams on 30 odd points.

"Harrogate are going to be really tough to deal with. They are a semi-professional outfit. They have a big pack. But we are going into the game confident and we have our own gameplan."
