GUISELEY have had a major boost ahead of their upcoming Emirates FA Cup Second Round game against Fleetwood Town at Nethermoor on Monday.

Centre back Jo Cummings and winger Louis Walsh have had their deals with the club extended until the New Year.

This means both will be available for selection for the prestigious game against Joey Barton’s Fleetwood Town, which will be televised live on BT Sport.

Cummings, an imposing 20 year-old, initially joined the club on a month’s loan from Charlton Athletic. This weekend he re-signed for the club, while Barnsley winger Walsh also had his loan extended.

Sheffield-based Cummings linked up with the Addicks from Sheffield United towards the end of the 2016/17 season, following a successful trial.

Netting a goal on his debut for Charlton Under-23s, he quickly became an important member of the Charlton Development Squad that retained the Professional Development League 2 South title.

Cummings came through the Academy at Sheffield United to make his senior debut for the Blades as a substitute in a 4–2 victory over Grimsby Town in an EFL Trophy match in November 2016.

Barnsley U-23 prospect Walsh joined Guiseley on a one-month loan from Barnsley FC and made an excellent debut at Darlington.

The 18 year-old winger played for Barnsley against Guiseley in last summer’s pre-season friendly.

Walsh signed for Barnsley in July 2018 after some fine performances at U-23 level during the 2017/18 campaign.

Blessed with incredible acceleration and terrific technique, the flying winger ghosts past defenders with ease and frequently provides teammates with assists, while contributing with goals himself.

Both players will be looking to play a part in Monday’s game as Guiseley make history by playing in FA Cup Second Round for two successive seasons.

By the time the 8pm kick-off comes round there will be an added incentive for Russ O’Neill and Marcus Bignot’s side, as the Third Round Draw will have already been made earlier that evening.
