AIRECENTRE Pacers celebrated a successful start to the cross-country off road winter season at the first PECO event in Middleton Park, Leeds, on Sunday with Andrew Humphries leading the Pacers men’s team home in a time of 30.39.
There was a closely contested Pacers sprint finish in the women’s event with only one second separating Pacers team members Sally Haigh and Kate MacFarlane. Kate's time 38.51.
The Pacers AGM provided an opportunity to reflect on the successes of the past year.
Chairman Paul Grindley presented the Outstanding Achievement in Running award to three Pacers team members: Margaret Britton, who represented England in her age category in the Chester Marathon, Andrew Humphries for representing Team GB in the duathlon in Denmark, and William Woodhead who completed 17 marathons/ultra marathon events during the last 12 months.
