BURLEY Buccaneers Under-7s played at home against Crossley Juniors and there were goals aplenty as they racked up a 6-3 victory.

The Buccaneers started the game on the front foot, and their attacking endeavour soon paid off when Conor Dunphy coolly slotted home his first goal.

Dunphy then turned provider, setting up Jackson Sadler-Lewis, who fired a shot into the top corner.

The highlight of the second quarter was a mazy run and finish from Ben Barry - placing his shot beyond the reach of the keeper. Crossley deservedly pulled one back just before half-time to bring it back to 3-1.

The third quarter saw further goals from both sides - the pick being a neatly taken strike from Alfie Sutton.

Max Rowland made some superb assists from midfield, while Lucas Goldie made some important challenges to ensure the Buccaneers kept their noses in front.

The final quarter saw Dunphy complete his hat trick with two more strikes to wrap up the 6-3 win.
