AIREBOROUGH RUFC Under-15s, have made it through to the quarter-finals of the Yorkshire Cup after a win against Huddersfield RUFC.

The north west Leeds-based team battled through their nerves and secured a 34-19 win, despite the inclement weather conditions.

The epic encounter, which brought a good crowd of supporters to Nunroyd Park, saw Felix Kram set the bar for both teams following a sprint down the right wing to score in the corner.

His teammates Lewis Rudd-Watson, Eddie Farnell, Vaughan Reeves, Ollie Flaxman, Johnny Ivory, Tom Ayrton and Danyal Aslam set up tries, conversions and put the ball over the line on a number of occasions.

Despite the end result, Huddersfield demonstrated skill, teamwork and excellent defence in a challenging game for all.

Aireborough inder-15s coach Granville Sellers said: “As a club we are so incredibly proud of the team for their continued efforts and dedication towards the game. All of the players played exceptionally well, including those from the opposing side.

“We are now focusing on how to prepare for the next round of the cup and we are feeling more confident and motivated than ever.”
