MARCUS Bignot says his Guiseley side need to concentrate on the "bread and butter" of the league following their FA Cup exploits.

The Lions booked their place in the fourth qualifying round with a 2-1 replay win over Cleethorpes Town on Tuesday night, following a 2-2 draw in North East Lincolnshire in their previous clash on Saturday.

Guiseley's reward is a home tie next against Stourbridge on Saturday, October 20.

Stourbridge, who play in the Evo-Stik League Premier Division Central, have good FA Cup pedigree themselves, which saw them reach the third round in 2017 where they were defeated by then League Two side Wycombe Wanderers.

But before that high-profile clash, they host seventh-placed Brackley Town in Manarama National League North at Nethermoor on Saturday. Guiseley are 13th in the league after three wins and five draws from their opening 11 fixtures.

Kevin Wilkin's Brackley celebrated cup success of their own in May when they defeated Bromley on penalties in the final of the FA Trophy at Wembley.

Joint-manager Bignot said: "The league is our bread and butter. We are happy with the direction we are going. The time to judge us is at the end of the season.

"I know quite a few of Brackley's players from my time at Solihull Moors and they are serial winners. They have had a successful time.

"Both games against Brackley and Stourbridge are going to be difficult for us. Kayode (Odejayi) has come back into the team and played two games back to back.

"We have got stronger as a group. We are a work in progress. We have been decimated by injury recently, but starting to get players back.

"We know what the league is all about."

Speaking on Guiseley's Stourbridge cup tie, Bignot added: "They are FA Cup specialists going to be a difficult side, but it's good that we have home advantage. We are looking forward to it.

"There is a lot at stake; an opportunity to be in the first round. It's what our supporters dream of.

"It is great that we are in the fourth qualifying round.

"It was great that we got the job done against Cleethorpes in the replay. I was pleased with the mentality of the group.

Meanwhile, Guiseley are inviting season ticket holders from any club to watch Saturday's home clash for half price.
