DAN Moriarty was the hero for Oxenhope Recreation, as he secured their first league win at the 11th attempt with a brace in their surprise 2-0 success at East End Park.

Oxenhope were bottom of Division One in the West Yorkshire League heading into the clash, while their opponents were sat in sixth after five wins in their first 10 games.

The formbook went out of the window on Saturday though, and the win allowed Oxenhope to climb up two places to 14th, above Otley Town and Wetherby Athletic.

Town slipped into the bottom two after an expected thrashing at home to league leaders Boroughbridge. They were hanging on at 3-1 down at the break, but the visitors streaked away in the second half to record a 6-1 win.

Campion consolidated second place in Division Two with a comfortable 3-0 victory at Old Centralians. Jordan Hagyard scored twice and Christopher Hellewell also found the back of the net.

They almost went top, after off-colour leaders Glasshoughton Rock were given a fright by visitors Baildon Trinity. The hosts eventually emerged as 4-3 winners in a thriller, leaving Baildon in 12th place.

Meanwhile, due to cup action, there was a truncated programme in the West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division, but Toller FC and Bradford Olympic shared ten goals in a thrilling 5-5 draw.

Visitors Olympic saw Zain Mushtaq and Wayne Sparkes both net doubles, with Kieron Ahmed also on the scoresheet.

Those goals put Toller 5-2 down, but they hit three in the last 10 minutes to earn a share of the spoils. Brendan Maltby scored twice for the hosts.
