Harrogate Town 1 Guiseley Academy 5

GUISELEY Academy Under-18s brushed aside Harrogate Town with an impressive 5-1 away win to make further progress in the FA Youth Cup, as striker Jake Young netted a hat-trick.

Dave Currie's boys opened the scoring in the sixth minute through left-winger Lewis Waddington to set Harrogate back on their heels.

The hosts were determined not to concede the 12 goals inflicted on them by Guiseley in a league game last month and the young Lions found themselves up against a more determined defence here.

Guiseley stuck to their task though and Young made it 2-0 before the break. The visitors stepped it up in the second-half too, adding three more goals.

The first came when Young was pushed in the penalty area and winger Tabish Hussain stepped up to convert from the penalty spot.

Young completed his hat-trick with a tap in from close range to make it 4-0 and then a stunning strike for the fifth. Harrogate rounded off the scoring with a consolation goal before the final whistle.
