ALTHOUGH Anthony Posa was delighted with how Bradford & Bingley played in their 22-21 defeat at North One East leaders Morpeth last Saturday, he realises that results are the only currency that matters.

The Bees, who are next to bottom and still without a win, led for the whole game until the final kick, and head coach Posa said: “We gave it everything, and Morpeth said that we were the better side.

“But they showed a lot of ticker to win it at the end, and we need to turn these performances into results pretty quickly.”

Back for the Bees tomorrow at home to West Leeds, who are one place and three points above them, are prop Alex Keeton, hooker Mat Cochrane and scrum half Dan Nota, while full back or winger Cameron Bainbridge, a new signing from Sandal who has recovered from a broken leg, could also be in the mix.

Cleckheaton’s head coach Thiu Barnard also went through a range of emotions last weekend during their 29-22 defeat at Bridlington.

He explained: “We had a red card for Paul Turner and two yellow cards in the first half, when we hadn’t got off the bus, but we got two bonus points out of it when it looked like we would get nothing with 20 minutes to go. We lost Matt Piper to concussion and Tom Austin to a hamstring injury, but it is also important to pick up points on the road.”

Tenth-placed Cleckheaton also have a derby – at home to third-placed Huddersfield YMCA – and Barnard added: “It will be a tough game but we beat them twice last season and there is no reason why we can’t beat them again.”

Old Grovians, at home to Northallerton in Yorkshire Division Two, are relying an on influx of players who were at Woodhouse Grove last season.
