THE shock of the day in the Dales Council League's A Division came at Meanwood Road, where Bradford Moor made a challenging 229 (Shahzad Mehmood 57, Adil Wahid 44) before visitors Farsley replied with 230-1, thanks to 153 not out from Jamie Blackburn and 49 not out from Michael Buchanan.

The top top two met at Gledhow, where Leeds Sikh made 191 in their 45 overs.

Woodhouse were on 146-9 (Ajay Kamboj 5-61) after 37 overs when the rain arrived and the game was abandoned.

Third-placed Thornbury suffered the same fate at Daleside Road, where Crompark totalled 210 (Shava Khan 60), with the hosts well placed on 165-4 (Mohammad Dar 75) when the stumps were pulled.

New Wortley, who are fourth, travelled to Sands Lane and, after Savile Stars had made 279-5, with Abdullah Alikzoi (129) and Saad Amjad (52) putting on 117 for the second wicket, the visitors were dismissed for only 127 (Abdullah Alikzoi 4-21).

Halifax Direct made the division's top score of 311 thanks to a second-wicket partnership of 142 between Naqib Raja (125) and Shahzad Aslam Malik (56) at Station Road before bowling out Drighlington for 109 (Murtaza Abbas 5-43).

At Smithy Lane, Leeds Caribbean scored 107, only for Cookridge fell agonisingly short when they finished on 105-9 off their 25 overs.

The leading duo also met in B Division at Mayfield Terrace, where Thornbury scored 193-9 and, with Mayfield on 84-3 (Ansar Mahmood 53no), the game was abandoned due to rain.

Third-placed Cookridge travelled to Fulneck, where Pudsey Congs made an imposing 254-7 (Nicky Gedge 59no, Jay Turnbull 58, Dominic Edwards 43) before bowling out the visitors for 134, with James Galvin taking 7-16.

Fourth-placed Adel also lost when they were bowled out for 93 after hosts St Chads Broomfield had made 169 (Michael Barnes 45, Kanhu Charan Pattnayak 5-34).

Teams in joint fifth met at Karmand, where visitors Pudsey St Lawrence declared on 141-6 (Aqeel Ahmed 4-32) when rain interrupted play, Halifax Direct B replying with 124-9 when the rain returned and the game was abandoned.

Baildon made 158 at Sandal, where Drighlington fell well short on 109-9, while at Sunnybank, Muff Field were bowled out for 130 (Karthaveeryarjun Vinjamoori 6-35) before Leeds Sikh replied with 133-2 thanks to 83 not out from Gus Rathore.

In C Division, Muff Field B conceded to leaders One Stop, while second met fourth at Leeds Road.

Tong Park Esholt totalled 193-8 (Junaid Ahmed 92, Ben Richardson 5-37) before Addul Hussian (5-37) and Neil Smith (5-52) bowled out Morley for 75 in 21.1 overs to beat the rain.

At Clariant, Shipley Providence made 162-9 (Rajakrishnan Rajadurai 48no, Elangovan Balakrishnan 45) and then had Cookridge C at 57-5 (Satish Kumar Singh 4-41) when the rain arrived.

Leeds Caribbean beat the weather, however, making 203-8 (Shamnaz Aksan 46) at the Scott Hall Oval before dismissing Baildon B for only 58.
