GUISELEY have pruned their squad further today with the departure of Elliot Green and Jake Sheppard.

Centre back Green, who has been out injured since last season, has been loaned to Alfreton Town until the end of the season.

Right back Sheppard has returned to his parent club Reading.

Green, who is back in training, has moved to get some game time.

The 24-year-old joined Guiseley in December 2016, but has had a couple of serious injuries and has played just ten games for the Lions.

His career started in the youth set-up at his home-town club Lincoln City and he signed a pro contract with the Imps in 2012.

Green had spells on loan at Lincoln United, Grantham Town, Stamford, Sheffield FC and Eastwood Town before moving to Sweden.

There he played for Ange IF and a couple of other clubs before moving to Canada in February 2016 after signing for Vancouver Whitecaps.

Sheppard, 20, was on a season-long loan at Nethermoor from Reading, making his Guiseley debut at Tranmere Rovers.

As well as playing for Reading's Academy, Sheppard has represented Scotland at youth and under-21 level.

He impressed last season on loan at Dagenham and Redbridge.
