Ilkley RFC are to visit Sweden at the end of the month for the third consecutive year to participate in the annual Swedish Tens rugby tournament.
Organisers Tom Gillon and BJ Fowler are taking a representative team in addition to a veterans side to compete in the two-day event in Stockholm.
Tom Gillon said, "This is a high standard international tournament with teams and invitational players from all over the globe. It is currently the biggest Tens event in the world and is growing annually".
Ilkley have adopted an "Ilkley Iguana" theme for this years event and the boys have been kitted out in playing and social kit accordingly.
Gillon said, "The theme stems from an event witnessed by the group last year in which two naked combatants vie against each other in a non-contact test of strength. We thought it might be an amusing way of touring".
The popularity of the tournament has grown from the original band of 12 travellers a few years ago, to the current party of 32.
The Vets reached the final last year, only to be thwarted by the might of the South Pacific Masters.
Gillon said, "We have brought back a trophy from each of our visits so far, so we will see how we get on this year, watch this space!
