York 1 Ben Rhydding 4

BEN Rhydding continued their improved run of form in the North Men's Premier League with an impressive win at York.

Despite going 1-0 down against the run of play, Rhydding dominated the play.

Struan Connor’s dazzling pace caused all kinds of problems for York and he combined well with George Gamble to cause problems for the York defence.

Will Tench, who was always strong in protecting the ball and intelligent in key areas, smashed home the first goal with a composed reverse shot.

Will Musgrave scored a remarkable goal to make it 2-1 before the impressive debutant Tom Burton drew the corner that Connor Dowley fizzed home to extend the lead.

Rhydding had to mop up a spell of York pressure and Chris McSherry in goal made some excellent saves.

Tench's impressive work rate had a significant impact on the game. Despite being being fouled he managed to nudge the ball through to Max Helme who showed clinical composure in beating the keeper in a one on one to score.

With this continued progress, Rhydding should have confidence for Saturday's home game with league leaders Leeds League and Sunday's trip to Wakefield.
