Ben Rhydding 1 Alderley Edge 3
BEN Rhydding men's first team lost again. Since the Christmas break they have struggled to find any sort of form and have now slipped to ninth in the division.
The game against Alderley Edge was always going to be difficult and Alderley played as expected with all their players behind the ball attacking on the break. Ben Rhydding dominated posession but failed in the final quarter of the pitch to get any results. Alderley Edge scored early in the first-half after defensive mistakes gave their striker an easy opportunity at the back post.
The second-half was spoilt by the sending off of vice-captain Ben Foster. This did not help a Rhydding team that had fought hard to get back to one apiece after a well-worked short corner was scored by Matt Bell.
The rest of the second-half passed with plenty of mistakes and poor play from both teams. The third goal for Alderly came after another defensive error which left Dave Carter with no chance of pulling off a save.
