Ilkley’s rugby players have been warned to expect a thorough tests of their promotion credentials at Stacks Field on Saturday.
The second-placed Dalesmen take on a Dinnington side that has climbed to fourth in the Yorkshire One table on the back of some good results.
Head of rugby Rhys Morgan said: “Dinnington have surprised a lot of people with the way they have climbed the table after a slow start.
“They have some very experienced players and Craig West, who is a good friend of mine, is an extremely experienced coach who seems to have built a strong side.
“He has vast experience having coached Rotherham and he has brought in experienced players like John Dudley.
“Make no mistake, they will present us with a very tough test. They clearly have ambitions to go up and this will be a tough match.”
Morgan is anxious that his team adopt the right approach and execute their plans efficiently.
He said: “If we create chances we have to take them against sides like Dinnington. It is important that we are smart and play the game in the right areas of the pitch.”
Morgan is planning to check on the fitness of winger JH Johnson before the selectors finalise the side.
Johnson has been troubled by a hamstring injury but Morgan is optimisitic that he will come back into contention after missing the last three matches.
“I will check with the player and the physio tonight,” he said.
