Kyle Brassington and Natasha Hillyer both enjoyed the familiar feeling of victory on Saturday in the AEGON British Tour.

Second seed Brassington delighted his fans by winning the Dacre Son & Hartley Ilkley Open men’s singles title for the fourth time.

The 26-year-old second seed from Ilkley rarely faltered in a 6-1, 6-4 defeat over fifth seed Adam Barratclough from Sunderland, and was sure on his serve, service returns and passing shots.

Brassington coaches nowadays at the Nuffield HBC complex in Hull so only competes in British Tour events at Hull and Ilkley while women’s singles winner Hillyer, from Coventry, was only in her seventh tournament of the year.

The 24-year-old top seed beat third seed Amy Partridge (Norfolk) 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 in 1hr 32min for her third Ilkley victory in four years.

However, it was her first British Tour triumph of the season as she continues her recovery after three years out with shoulder problems and, more recently, a stomach bug.
