WALKERS at Bramhope will soon be able to enjoy a rest while admiring Paul’s Pond.

A grant of £1,186 has been approved to install two new benches beside the water feature in Breary Marsh Nature Reserve. Members of the Outer North West Area Committee agreed on the funding when they met this week.

Committee members and local Councillors Caroline and Barry Anderson (Con, Adel & Wharfedale) are confident the new seating will be well used. Cllr Caroline Anderson said: “This will be a great addition. The benches will be made of hardwood and will fit in beautifully with the surroundings, and they will be inspected on a regular basis for wear and tear.

“This is a very popular walking and leisure area and there are lots of benches in Golden Acre Park. Having benches at the Paul’s Pond side will make it more attractive for those who perhaps didn’t want to walk to there if there was nowhere to rest.”
