TWO past president of Aireborough Rotary have presented a £500 cheque from the club to the Horsforth Live at Home scheme.

The club donated the money after a fundraising marathon challenge by past presidents Brian Whitham and Graham Davies.The two men completed 26 walks of at least 2.6 miles each on behalf of Methodist Homes (MHA). In all 51 supporters donated a total of £1615 - more than three times the original £500 target.

They presented the cheque for £500 from the club to Sue Oliver, local co-ordinator at Horsforth Live at Home .

The Rotary year begins on July 1, and last week local clubs welcomed their new presidents. In Aireborough Raj Mani has taken the president’s chair, with John Kitching as president elect and Geoff Bartrum as president nominee. All three became Rotarians within the last four years. The club will now move forward with its programme of projects and events.
