CORONAVIRUS restrictions have led to a 319 home housing development in Bramhope being ‘paused’.

Miller Homes has confirmed that work at its Spring Wood Park site, off the A660 Leeds Road, has been suspended until further notice due to the coronavirus lockdown.

The decision was revealed in a message from the developer to Councillor Barry Anderson (Con, Adel & Wharfedale) on Wednesday, March 25.

It said: “In response to the new government guidelines issued earlier this week Miller Homes have suspended all works on our developments in the region and Miller Homes Spring Wood Park is no longer open for business.

“The site closed yesterday and will remain closed until further notice.”

Roadworks linked to the development, which are being undertaken by Leeds City Council, are continuing for now. Cllr Anderson has been told by the council’s Highways department that this is in line with Department for Transport advice concerning the lockdown - but that they are ‘reviewing national guidance on a daily basis’.
