A TEACHER from Otley has been recognised for going ‘above and beyond’ for her students.
Ellena Barker, Head of Year 10 at Leeds City College’s Park Lane campus, has won the college’s Enhancement of the Student Experience 2019 award.
The 25 year old is a former Prince Henry’s Grammar School student.
Head of Leeds City College’s 14+ Apprenticeship Academy, Alan McKenna, said: “Ellena is a member of our staff who always goes above and beyond for our learners.
“She works hard to enhance the student experience to ensure they are enthused in their learning.
“She is able to build brilliant relationships with our learners; this enables them to trust her and they know that whatever their issue or problem Ellena will do her very best to solve it for them. We are very proud of her award. It is thoroughly deserved and we are very lucky to have such a dedicated member of staff.”
