OFFICERS from West Yorkshire Police called to a report of a car with a smashed window in Guiseley on Tuesday morning quickly realised it was no ordinary vehicle.
After initial checks failed to identify a local owner police from Leeds North West carried further investigations and soon found high value jewellery, registration plates and other vehicle keys. Tools which would be used by burglars were also discovered.
The vehicle identification number had also been partially covered from the inside so after clambering in and using some borrowed tweezers to remove the obstruction the officers discovered that the vehicle was stolen.
The vehicle and all items have been seized and sent for forensic examination and the investigation continues.
