A COLLECTION for Marie Curie was carried out by Ilkley Rotary Club last Saturday by kind permission of the Ilkley Boyes Store. Despite the wet weather early in the day it was a great success and raised £230 for the charity.

Andrew Allison, chairman of club service for Ilkley Rotary Club organised the rota for the second year running and provides a valuable assistance to this important charity, which supports terminally ill people and their families. Every pound towards the Daffodil appeal supports the charity's work, which includes expert nursing care in the home, information for people looking after someone with a terminal illness and practical information and emotional support for people who have been bereaved.

“It's so important to collect this March, so Marie Curie Nurses can be there for more people," said Mr Allison. "The Rotary Club of Ilkley is delighted to be able to support The Daffodil appeal."
