ILKLEY'S first Waste Not pop up shop will be held on Saturday (March 3) from 1pm to 4pm at the Roundhouse in Burley-in-Wharfedale.

It is the brainchild of Charlotte Hawkins, who lives in the village with her partner Sam and their two children Isaac, three and-a-half, and Wilfred, one-and-a-half. She aims to open a permanent shop in the summer.

Charlotte said: "We have now found a permanent location for the shop, at the Grange in Burley-in-Wharfedale. It is a small room, but we will make the most of the space to offer as much variety as possible, with packaging free food being the main focus.

"The Grange is located right in the centre of Burley, a short walk from the train station, and with disabled access and a car park. We are hoping the shop will open early summer, and are working hard behind the scenes to make this happen. In an attempt to open the shop sooner rather than later we have scaled back the plans, postponing the mobile van; though it is still very much part of the grand plan, to bring packaging free produce to a wider audience.

" Everything is full steam ahead for the pop up on the 3rd March open from 1pm until 4pm. We have lots of stock for plastic free, eco alternatives to everyday items. There will also be local producers selling packaging free cheese, butter and patisseries."
