LEEDS Teaching Hospitals has launched a support fund for patients, relatives and volunteers.
The fund has been set up to help those who may be struggling financially due to the pandemic. Amongst those it can help are:
*Bereaved relatives facing immediate financial pressures
*Patients isolating for 14 days before being admitted to hospital and so suffering income loss, excess cost or other hardship
*Those experiencing significant increases in costs, for example in childcare, as a direct result of the pandemic
*Patients, their immediate families or volunteers who have experienced significant household income loss and are struggling with finances
Applications will be assessed by a panel of staff at Leeds Teaching Hospitals and, if successful, result in awards of up to £500 - or more in exceptional circumstances. Application forms can be downloaded from https://www.leedsth.nhs.uk/coronavirus/supportfund/.
