CANDLELIGHTERS has appointed a new Chair of Trustees.
Keith Hardcastle has succeeded Stephen Redman in the role for the Leeds-based children’s cancer charity.
Mr Redman, who has stepped down after six years as Chair, will remain on the board until his formal term expires in September, 2021.
Mr Hardcastle, a chartered property professional, was first introduced to Candlelighters shortly after his son, Harry was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2006 and became Vice Chair in 2014.
He said: “I was delighted and honoured to have been chosen (as Chair) by the board and look forward to developing our support for children and their families.”
Candlelighters Chief Executive, Emily Wragg, congratulated Mr Hardcastle and also paid tribute to his predecessor. She said: “I’d like to thank Stephen for his dedication and support over the past 13 years, especially his six-year tenure as chair during which he worked tirelessly.”
